On This Day Photos Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July, 2026

Summary

On This Day Photos is designed to be private by default. The app processes your photos entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your photos or any personal data with us or any third party.

Data the app accesses

Photo library access. With your permission, the app reads photos and videos from your device's photo library in order to identify items taken on the current date in previous years and display them to you. This access uses Apple's standard Photos framework. You can grant, limit, or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > On This Day Photos.

Photo metadata. The app reads the creation date and, where available, location metadata embedded in your photos solely to sort and display them. This metadata is never transmitted off your device.

Data the app does not collect

Third parties

The app does not integrate any third party services that collect personal data.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, there is no account to delete and no data for us to provide, correct, or erase on request. All data the app accesses remains on your device and under your control via iOS settings.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because the app collects no data, changes are expected to be rare and minor.
